What makes this market different?

“Curating a quality market is no easy feat, I believe what makes this market different is the feeling it invokes, space occupied by passionate individuals operating on a grassroots level, alongside a community of attendees that are so keen to support your dream. Likewise, It is a glimpse of hope in a harsh economy and the warmth of a summer day spent in the most beautiful park.” - Ashby

The Slow Fashion Revolution

Candor is a labor of love, rooted in the belief that good things take time, effort, and care to flourish. Inspired by the wise words of Dr. Seuss' The Lorax, our motto, "Plant the Seed," encapsulates our commitment to building strong roots and cultivating a positive impact on the environment and society.

At Candor, we strive to lessen the fashion industry's ecological footprint by designing mindfully and intentionally. We recognize that the fashion industry has historically been a significant contributor to environmental degradation, and we are determined to change that narrative. By embracing slow fashion principles, we aim to create garments that stand the test of time, both in terms of style and durability.
One of our core practices is managing waste efficiently. We understand that every scrap has potential, and we frequently repurpose leftover fabric for smaller upcycling projects. By transforming these remnants into unique accessories or garments, we reduce waste and give new life to materials that would have otherwise ended up in landfills. This creative approach not only aligns with our sustainable values but also allows us to offer our customers one-of-a-kind pieces with a story to tell.
Transparency and ethical practices are deeply ingrained in our business model. We believe in treating our machinists with the utmost respect and ensuring fair pay and safe working conditions. By maintaining transparency about our manufacturing process, we empower our customers to make informed choices and support a fashion industry that values the well-being of all those involved in the production process.
What we are building is much more than just a clothing brand; it is a platform for social change. We are passionate advocates for gender neutrality and LGBTQ+ inclusivity. Through fashion, we aim to challenge conventional gender binaries and create safe spaces for all individuals to express themselves authentically. Our designs transcend traditional notions of style, embracing a fusion of vintage and leisure. The resulting aesthetic can only be described as the lovechild of classic silhouettes with a twist for contemporary comfort.
As we continue to grow, we are committed to nurturing a community that shares our values. Through collaborative initiatives, partnerships, and educational outreach, we aim to spread awareness about the importance of sustainable fashion. By engaging with our customers, we hope to inspire a collective shift towards conscious consumption, where quality and ethical considerations take precedence over fleeting trends.
We recognize that the journey towards a more sustainable fashion industry is a marathon, not a sprint. Like a seed that requires nurturing, patience, and care to bloom, we understand that creating lasting change takes time. We invite you to join us on this journey, embracing the beauty of slow fashion and sowing the seeds of a more sustainable and inclusive future.
Remember, the day you plant the seed, is not the day you eat the fruit! <3
